Indie/Progressive Rock Group Seeks Bassist

Hey, my name's Derek. I'm 28 and singing for a new group. I'm located in Arlington near route 50. I have a small studio at my house that we use for recording and rehearsal. The group's current goal is to perfect a set's worth of material and start gigging locally ASAP. Longer term goals include releasing an album and larger gigs. We have 8 songs that are fully or partially written. Our writing is mostly influenced by indie/alt/math/prog rock. Influences include The Mars Volta, Tool, TTNG, Coheed and Cambria. While we're very inspired by technical groups, we're rooted in the mindset that songs should always groove and have heart. Rather than have technicality for its own sake. We all have past experience in former bands and day jobs. But we're very passionate about building this band. If you're interested, I can share some recent demos with you.
