WORCESTER, MA — A Shrewsbury man may spend up to 20 years in state prison for his role in the 2018 killing of a local woman, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. Joseph Dalrymple, 37, pleaded guilty Thursday to an involuntary manslaughter charge in the July 2018 death of Marlene Bleau. A judge then sentences Dalrymple to 18 to 20 years in prison. Bleau, 38, was found face down on the Worcester side of Lake Quinsigamond on July 28, 2018. An autopsy showed she had been strangled prior to her death. Dalrymple was supposed to go to trial in October 2019, but the case was pushed back multiple times, including due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The trial was set to begin on Sept. 22.
