Description
To start I should say social media has gotten harder and harder over the years to navigate for the specific purpose to find friends that will make a positive impact on our real lives. This is especially true for the Art Community because we see each other as competition rather than kin. There is nothing wrong with friendly or healthy competition mind you, but far too often the interactions are nonexistent to downright toxic.
I joined the internet during the early 2000s on DeviantArt so I'm probably just an old fart who's complaining about nothing. However when I stopped doing fanart and branching out into genres I actually care about, I lost all my audience and had to rebuild ever since. Due to life events that have been a long and painful process, leaving me pretty lonely and feeling like what I do looks bad or just not subjects people want to see. I've heard so many times that I should "Find your audience and cater to them as well as yourself."
I've tried that, but it still feels like I'm a drop in the bucket.
My genre is: Monster and Character Creation, World Building, and Horror for those who are curious.
