Introducing Past Lives LLC- Founded by ex-prisoner Brandon Morlock. Past Lives is built on two principals: No one is irredeemable and all humans have the right to earn a living wage. Brandon Morlock was released from Santiam Correctional Institution on 9/24 2020 During his time, incarcerated for a DUI that resulted in a death of his friend. Brandon (known as Morlock) implemented a plan that would create a low cost community art space for the incredible creatives of Portland and hire the skilled and unskilled labor coming out of the prison system. The idea behind Past Lives was born in to reality when Morlock bootstrapped a maker space and a small woodworking shop at one of Portlands community workspaces. Over the next 24 months Morlock and his vision attracted the attention of artists, businesses and entrepreneurs and Daves Killer Bread Co-Founder Glenn Dhal as an investor and business partner. Past lives rapidly outgrew its original “sublet” and in June of 2022 we moved into a 26,000’ warehouse. 9.24.2022, 2 years after Morlock was released from prison we are having our Grand Opening in our new space. We will be featuring our artist and maker community, our fabrication capacities and live music. We would love the opportunity to introduce our distinctly different community to you!
