When people resist arrest, police are told not to chase the cars and if they kill an unarmed suspect they are jailed. But as lawmakers were being evacuated by Capitol Police, Ashli Elizabeth Babbitt, a 35-year-old unarmed Air Force veteran, attempted to climb through a shattered window in a barricaded door and was shot in the neck/shoulder by Capitol Police lieutenant Michael Byrd (who was standing on the other side). She died from the wound. Why isn’t he jailed waiting trial for killing an unarmed women who served our country with valor like the “trespassers” are?
