This three day series of events kicks off on Friday with a Spirit of Wakanda Dinner Experience. Saturday will be Mahali Market Pop-Up Shop and the weekend will end with a bang showcasing our talented local youth. Join us for 1, 2, or all 3 events this weekend as we Celebrate the Spirit of Wakanda in Lawton this opening weekend. You will be presented with African inspired entertainment as you are whisked away to the wilds of the Ancestral Plains and dine in the decadence of the Royal Palace. Let the power of the Heart Shaped Herb surge through you to the beat of drums from the Motherland empowering you to embrace harmony and unity, The Spirit of Wakanda. It will be an experience unlike any you've ever had. Tickets are available for General Admission or as a Royal VIP Package. Attire: White, Royal, Ethnic, Semi-formal, formal Early Bird Tickets are $45 until October 15, 2022, and $50 thereafter. Saturday - Mahali Market Pop-Up Shop - Free 11:00 am - 5:00pm Start your holiday shopping off early this year and get it all done in one place at Mahali Market. This pop-up shop will feature all local Black Owned businesses. There will be beauty and skin care products, jewelry, hair care, health products, clothing, accessories, house decor, candles, food, and more. Entry is free and the first 20 guests get a swag bag so arrive early and stay all day. There will be door prizes, raffles, and more that you don't want to miss. Sunday - Spirit of Wakanda Youth Showcase - $15 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm Today, several young members of the Lawton community will be showcasing their skills with art, essay writing, and performance talents on the stage at Mahali. Let us join together as one to support them as they compete to win cash prizes. All performances, art, and essays will revolve around the theme, "The Spirit of Wakanda in Lawton, OK." complimentary refreshments will be served at the end of the program.
