WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 28th - LEXINGTON Breakfast Social and Talk at Ross Tarrant Architects (9am-10:30am) – Future of Lexington with LFUCG Planning (CEU expected - Registration is Free) Town Branch Commons Site Tour (10:30-12) – Speakers: Brandi Peacher (LFUCG), Erin Hathaway (Gresham Smith), Ramona Frye (Element). (CEU Expected - Registration is Free) THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th - LOUISVILLE CEU Tour (9am-2:30pm) - Public Spaces with Social Impacts: Take a tour of several Louisville Parks. We provide bus transportation - Meet at Baringer Hill, Cherokee Park, where the tour will depart. Registration is $5 for ASLA members and $15 for non-members. Shawnee Park – A white only park in west Louisville that now is in a predominantly black neighborhood after white flight from the 1950’s. With a recent master plan by Jefferson Memorial Forest, Shawnee Park will be a destination for programming geared towards connecting urban youth with outdoor spaces. Speakers to include Jeana Dunlap (formerly with Louisville Metro Vacant and Abandoned Properties, LOEB Fellow, and urban strategist) and Sarah Kopke-Jones (Jones Landscape Architecture) to discuss the historical, cultural, and economic impacts of the park on the community.Parklands of Floyds Fork – A brief tour of the park, vision, and impacts on future growth of the city. Speakers to include Project Team.Waterfront Park – A world class river park that reclaimed industrial land to public use. The park hosts over 2 million visitors a year and is programmed with large festivals, concert series, and a variety of daily use. The next phase of the park is designed by MKSK and will reach west to provide park access to new neighborhoods. Speakers to include Deborah Bilitski (President) and Andy Knight (MKSK). This stop includes a picnic lunch.Happy Hour with Torey Carter-Conneen at TSW Design Group (4-5:30) - Meet Torey and socialize with fellow landscape architects and others with adult beverages and snacks courtesy of TSW Design Group. Attendees will drive themselves to TSW office at 734 West Main Street, Suite 100, Louisville. Open to the public, no registration is required
