We are so excited to bring you the first-ever Celebration of Special Recreation - a mini-expo and activity event showcasing recreation activities for people with disabilities of all types. There will be demos and opportunities to try many sports and art activities, plus the grand opening of the NWCSRA sensory room, and tables of information about local activities and services. This event is for all-ages and all abilities. Don't have a disability? Come learn about the community and what we have to offer! Stop in anytime between 10 am and 2 pm. The first 300 participants can collect their free bag and passport, complete the activities to receive stamps, and use the completed passport to enter our drawing! Activities include: Glow Art - black light adaptive/inclusive painting activity by ZotArtz, inventors of specialized equipment for inclusive art activities since 1990 - sponsored by the Bolingbrook Arts Council NWCSRA Sensory Room - Ribbon Cutting at 9:45am; Sensory Room visits all day long Wheelchair Basketball, Sit Volleyball, and GoalBall - presented by Lincolnway Special Recreation Association of New Lenox Music and Movement - presented by Dynamic Lynks Music Therapy from Oak Park Beep Baseball - presented by the Chicago Comets Tabletop Sensory Clay Play - presented by DuPage Children's Museum from Naperville Vision Screenings - presented by the Bolingbrook Lions Club Bookmobile - presented by Fountaindale Public Library Equine Therapy Information - presented by The Legacy Ranch from LockportRefreshments will be available for purchase.
