This event is for backyard gardeners, brewers, chefs, farmers, purveyors of fine foods or anyone interested in learning more about pawpaws. Come have a great time at Docville Farm and learn about North America's largest native fruit.
Our Keynote speaker is Rodney Dever of Peterson's Pawpaws. Dr. Tammy Greer of the United Houma Nation will provide an indigenous perspective of the plant. Retired LSU Ag. center agent Charlie Overstreet will speak about his experiences growing and grafting pawpaws in Baton Rouge. Lastly, retired LSU Ag. center Fruit and Nut specialist Charlie Johnson will provide insights on how to establish a pawpaw orchard and his experience with the 1990's LSU pawpaw trials.
The first 30 guests who sign up on Eventbrite and attend the entire symposium will receive two free pawpaw trees!
