Intermediate Tenor Sax Player Seeking Band

Hi, I play tenor sax and I'd love to find a band to play in, hopefully something like funk, afrobeat, punk, progressive rock or metal, but I'm open to anything really. I love performing and I would love the opportunity to hone my skills further. I would say I am intermediate skill currently in that I can play in all keys (major, minor, and other scales) pretty comfortably and can learn fast passages if I am given a few days to practice them. I have a great ear from playing other instruments so I can easily identify the key signature and improvise to whatever so long as it doesn't change keys every bar (sorry, I can't solo over Giant Steps yet). I have pretty good dynamic and tonal control, but I'm no Stan Getz yet either. My favorite players are Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderly, and of course Stan himself. I like jazz of course but also fusion like Return to Forever, Mahavishnu and Herbie Hancock, as well as Afrobeat, and some punk/ska, metal, hip hop, and some electronica. Anyway, I would love to meet up with some bands and try out, or even just have a jam together to really take my sax skills to task! Thanks! -Sam
