It also matches very well with international dishes such as the Peruvian crab cause or the Asian dim sum and gyozas. Pago Del Cielo Rueda Celeste Verdejo, 2020 The winery-owned vineyards closest to the Duero River bring us Celeste Verdejo (DO Rueda), a white wine that is modern in style with remarkable freshness and aromatic intensity. “On the one hand, we find elegant herbaceous notes of fennel and anise, and on the other, interesting citrus notes of lemon and pineapple. The wine is crisp in the mouth, and unfolds pleasantly across the palate, with sweet mango and peach notes.” Fresh pear, lemon and grapefruit pith, flint and lemon grass on the nose. Medium-bodied with bright acidity. Excellent fruit concentration and texture. James Suckling, 91 Points Devocion Malbec Mendoza, 2020 Devoción is led by Juan Pablo Murgia and is organically produced. This is 100% Malbec and demonstrates the natural expressions of Produced from one of the largest fully certified organic vineyards in the world, the Altamira vineyard, the Devocion Malbec shows off a deep purple and saturated color. The nose immediately calls out all the famous Malbec aromas you wish for, and then some – including black cherry liqueur, dark plum sauce, blueberry, fresh leather, minerals, and purple flowers. Even more, there’s a cool breeze of eucalyptus, spearmint, and baking spices all rolled in. The flavor echoes the aromas but also presents a blast of blackberries, blueberry compote, bing cherries, vanilla, chocolate pudding, herbs, wet stones, flint, and finishes with a huge, huge ball of black, blue, and red fruits. The finish is pleasantly soft, long, and very satisfying. Marques De Casa Concha Carménère Peumo, 2018 Blend of 95% Carmenere and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep dark red in color, with the classic profile of Carmenere from Peumo, with intense notes of ripe plums, black currants, and dark chocolate, along with firm tannic structure and pronounced acidity. “Ripe glossy dark cassis fruit, roasted coffee and spice. Fine tannins and lashings of oak. Impressive and powerful.” Decanter, 90 Points Bodegas Y Vinedos Valderiz Ribera del Duero, 2018 Very dark, black currant color with rich and robust blue fruit on the nose. A perfect match for seafood, fish, vegetables, white meats and stews. CVNE Rioja Garnacha Selección de Fincas, 2018 This 100% Garnacha was made with grapes from our vineyards” is CVNE’s low-key way of saying: we made the most amazing bottle of wine you might ever taste at this price because that’s what we’ve been doing across 1,350 acres of vineyards since 1879 when our ancestors, Eusebio and Raimundo Real de Asúa, founded Compañía Vinicola del Norte de España (The Northern Spanish Wine Company). Mas Martinet Bru Priorat, 2020 Martinet Bru is the door to Priorat. It is a wine of our times, more accessible in every sense. The estates where it comes from receive the south-west wind called garbinada, a humid sea breeze known for cooling the last hours of the hottest summer afternoons and helping to obtain slower and more extended ripening. A modern, nice, appetizing and fresh wine, but with the typical structure and minerality of our region. The most drinkable slope in Priorat. Blend of 70% Grenache, 16% Syrah, 11% Merlot and 3% Carignan. Piattelli Vineyards Sparkling Brut Nature 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir. Crafted with the best Pinot Noir (50%) and Chardonnay (50%) grapes grown in the Uco Valley and Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza. Made in the traditional method, you'll find a lovely elegance and balance between floral, fresh, and the toasted bread and yeasty notes. Fine and elegant bubbles. Made in the Champenoise method and 12 Month Aged Sur Lies. Piattelli Torrontés, 2021 White grapefruit, lemon zest and white peach are on the nose of this refreshing wine. The palate presents more citrus and herbaceous flavors followed by nice acidity, leading to a lingering citrus-driven finish. Piattelli Vineyards Limited Edition Cabernet Franc, 2016 This limited edition of Cabernet Franc is a barrel selection from our El Chaski Vineyard, located in the Cafayate Valley, at 5,577 feet above sea level. It was fermented in concrete eggs and later aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. As a result, we find a wine with aromas of red fruits, intense color, and exhibiting persistent yet well balanced tannins. “Planted as recently as 2010, this young vine Cabernet Franc is one of only a handful of examples of the variety in Cafayate. It’s quite a plush style, but has classic herbal aromas, silky tannins and a refreshing green streak supported by acidity.” Tim Atkin 2017 Piattelli Vineyards Limited Edition Petit Verdot, 2017 This Limited Edition of Petit Verdot is a selection of barrels from our Finca Cobos, located at 960 meters above sea level in Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza. Fresh climate, which favors the production of concentrated, intense colors and aromatic wines. The grapes for this wine have been harvested and then selected by hand. Aged in oak barrels for 12 months. Piattelli Vineyards Limited Edition Ancellotta, 2017 “A wine that makes you do a double take, this unusual red has 17% natural alcohol and is a super rich, almost Amarone style Ancellotta, albeit with only three grams of residual sugar. Concentrated, compact and figgy with very smooth tannins.” Tim Atkin 2017 This barrel selection of Ancellotta comes from our Tres Cruces Vineyard, located in the Animaná Valley, at 5,577 feet above sea level. This bright valley with its chalky soils, characterized by being deep clayey loam and alluvial terrain, as well as its maritime influence, has excellent conditions for growing the Chardonnay variety. After a light pressing, we ferment this wine in French oak barrels, achieving a wine with marked personality, freshness, and elegance. Fresh, fruity aroma dominated by peach, white plum, and grapefruit notes, with touches of toasted hazelnut. Minerality on the palate, with plenty of volume, elegant acidity and lasting rich, fruity aromas. Ending with a fresh and pleasant aftertaste. Bodegas Avancia Valdeorras Mencía Cuvée de O, 2018 This wine pays homage to the medieval monastery that anchors the steep mountainside vineyards high above the village of Barco de Valdeorras. The complex fruitiness of the Mencia grape combines with the distinct flinty minerality derived from the slate soils to create a unique wine. Flavors of dark plums and blackberries are accentuated by an exotic spiciness. The luxurious palate is balanced by long tannins on the elegant finish. The nose of the red 2018 Cuveé de O Mencía shows notes of ripe berries despite being only 13.2% alcohol. It also has notes of violets and tar. It is roughly 90% Mencía and the rest a field blend of Garnacha Tintorera, Mouratón, Gran Negro, Sousón and Cariñena from old vines. It has notes of sour cherry and a bitter twist. It fermented in 5,000-liter flextank and matured in neutral 225-liter French oak barriques for eight months, during which time it also underwent malolactic. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 90 Points Vino Villota Rioja Estate Grown & Bottled, 2018 A blend of 84% Tempranillo, 11% Graciano, and 5% Garnacha sourced from the Finca San Rafael Vineyard in the Rioja Alavesa sub-zone. The wine is aged for 18 months in second-pass French oak, followed by two months in concrete tanks. “Saturated ruby. Highly perfumed, spice-tinged aromas of cherry, boysenberry, incense, and smoky minerals take on a floral element with air. Concentrated and gently sweet, offering red and dark berry, licorice, chocolate, and violet pastille flavors, along with an energizing touch of cracked pepper. Finishes broad, chewy and long, delivering steadily building tannins and resonating florality.” Vinous, 93 Points Alvear Montilla-Moriles Pedro Ximénez Solera 1927 (NV) 98 points Robert Parker: “The NV Pedro Ximenez Solera 1927 is non-vintage, but does have some 1927 material in it. This is totally dark brown/amber with notes of figs, toffee, caramel syrup, molasses and coffee. It is dense, super sweet, intense, rich and an amazingly, unctuously textured, thick beverage to consume slowly and introspectively after a meal. Drink now through 2050, or even longer. Drink: 2016-2050. (Nov 2015)” 96 points and ‘#5 Enthusiast 100 2017,” Wine Enthusiast: “One of the world's best PX wines is Solera 1927, the pride of Alvear. Whatever solera stocks went into this bottling were well selected. Aromas of maple and fine wood turn to fig and caramel. Saturation and weight on the palate are expected, but this has some (though not a lot) acidic cut. Deep flavors of fig and Nutella finish with nuttiness and warmth. Drink or hold. (Sep 2017)” 94 points James Suckling: “A pretty mind-blowing sweet wine with so much density and sweetness, offering syrup, toffee, burnt-sugar and chocolate flavors, as well as espresso coffee and toffee pudding. It’s full and very, very sweet. Caramel at the end. From a solera established in 1927.” 21+ age required. Reservations Required.
