Free Event - Kayaks provided (single-person kayaks)
Sara Ayers-Rigsby, FAU Director, Florida Public Archaeology Network and Palm Beach County archaeologist Chris Davenport will lead the morning exploring the Loxahatchee Sough Natural Area by kayak. As we explore the Loxahatchee Slough we will reflect on the natural and cultural history and events that have shaped and changed the site, and the surrounding landscapes. The meet up location is at the Karen T. Marcus Sandhill Crane Access Park, 8175 PGA Boulevard, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33418. Please note that Sandhill Crane Access Park has restroom facilities but it does not have drinking water.
Directions: From I-95 or the Turnpike take PGA Boulevard exit. Head west (4 miles from 1-95 or 2 miles from the Turnpike). The Karen T. Marcus Sandhill Crane Access Park is located on the north side of PGA Boulevard.
Details/What to bring:
Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty/wet.Bring water sun protection and bug spray.
