If you apply by Tuesday 9/13/22 we will print your K4 for you). Mechanic C- Entry Level position. ASE or successful completion of School Certificate in related field is required or 1-2 years’ work experience: To perform routine or basic preventive maintenance and repair work on buses, vehicles, and other equipment as assigned. Employees in this classification receive direct supervision from the maintenance operations supervisor or his or her designate within a well-defined framework of policies and procedures. This job class exercises responsibility for performing preventive maintenance inspections and repair and for assisting higher-level mechanics in the performance of more complex mechanical maintenance tasks. The minimum qualifications include, but are not limited to: • Valid California Class C Driver License • If hired, you will be required to obtain a Commercial Driver License with Passenger Endorsement within 90 days of employment • Ability to obtain a Refrigeration Recovery/Containment Certificate Type II (per Federal EPA regulations) • Tools and equipment of the mechanic trade provided • Reliable and responsible • Ability to learn the basic operation and repair characteristics of buses, trucks, vans, automobiles, and other equipment • Ability to learn operations of gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel engines • Ability to learn the basic methods, materials, practices, and tools of the mechanic trade • COVID-19 vaccination and Booster (if eligible) required prior to first day of work. • Must pass drug test • Clean DMV record (no more than 2 points) Salary: The starting salary is $22.00 and up. Pay rate is based on skill level of applicant hired.
