Subject line: 18–59 year-old highly trained or elite endurance athletes needed for UO Research Study (Eugene, Oregon)
**Note: We are only recruiting participants who are currently 18-59 years old that are highly trained or elite runners, cyclists, or triathletes**
We are conducting a study on the CORE device that externally monitors core temperature for endurance trained athletes.
To participate you must be a highly trained or elite runner, cyclist, or triathlete that is a non-smoker and do not have any underlying cardiovascular limitations.
If eligible based on a 1- 2 hour pre-screening and VO2 max or VO2 peak testing, participation will include two 1.5-2 hour visits to the lab.
Each visit will involve:
- Ingestion of core temperature pill
- Assessment of hydration status using urine specific gravity
- Weighing pre/post exercise for estimated sweat loss
- Exercising for 45 minutes in a hot/dry climate or hot/humid climate.
