Description
Register for LT 199 Self-Study Language Program to learn Ukrainian at the Yamada Language Center of the University of Oregon. “Laskavo Prosymo” (“Welcome") to this unique program where classes are highly interactive, culturally rich, and designed to meet your communication and academic needs.
Program Features Include:
•Weekly two-hour tutorials with small group instruction (required)
•A curriculum based on student interests and academic needs
•Student-centered: Assessment is based on learner reflections and an end-of-term project
•Small classes (typically 5-10); close relationship with tutor
•Focus on oral/aural communication
•Culture is infused in the language teaching
•Opportunity to focus on individual needs and interests
•Access to the Yamada Language Center’s materials, language exchange program, and technology
•1 credit for UO students; or term fee for community members
TIME
Class schedule is arranged at orientation (Thursday of Week 1, 5:30-7:00, MCK 175, University of Oregon). Classes last for the whole term.
COST
UO students pay regular tuition for 1 credit, GEs can use their tuition waivers. Community members, faculty, or staff pay a $225 fee per term.
