Our family dog passed away a year ago. She was the most beautiful black lab, and we loved her for 12 years. We’re still recovering from her loss, but we’re getting there. The worst part is coming home to an empty house—we’re still not used to it.
My mother has been searching for any kind of small dog for months, but she hasn’t had much luck with everything going on. Pathfinder never gets back to us, and our local shelters tell us they don’t have any small dogs. (They aren’t allowing visits at this time.)
I think a puppy like this would be the perfect pup for my parents. My brothers and I are grown, and the loss of our family dog has exacerbated my parents empty-nest syndrome. They’ve tried to fill the void with cats, but you know it’s not the same. They currently have two female cats, one a kitten and the other is two years. They’re both very playful and sweet.
