E.D. Swett, a bridge-building contractor based in Concord, NH is currently seeking to fill one position in Peterborough, NH, with special consideration given to women and minorities. The successful candidate will receive a minimum of 600 hours of structured supervised training in all aspects of bridge construction in Peterborough, NH.
Under the Federal Highway Administration's Affirmative Action Program, all construction companies contracting for federally-funded projects are required to make a good faith effort to hire women and minorities to meet the goals of the Federal On-the-Job Training (OJT) program. The program is designed to help women and minorities move into jobs and upgrade their skills toward journey worker status in highway and bridge construction trades.
While preference will be given to women and minorities, the program is not intended to discriminate against any applicant, whether a minority group member or not.
