Rehoming Husky Mix

Description

Hi! We are in a very hard space right now. We have to rehome our 1 year old Siberian Husky/Choc Lab mix (Huskador) BOWIE! He is 1 year old, born May 4th 2021. He weighs about 40lbs and he is extremely active. He has been around kids since birth, house trained “go potty” for outdoors.. and crate trained “go to bed” for crate time. He can sit and shake as well. The issue is Bowie has developed a food aggression. And we do not have the time, or space to work with him with 3 children under 4 running around. First off, this was all by surprise and shocked all of us. He nipped my daughter when she rubbed his back when he was walking up to eat. Which she has done everyday since he came home at 8 weeks. And he bit me when I was opening his cage, while he was eating a treat.. (which was completely gone when I opened the cage) and drew blood. We need somebody who has the time, and space to work with him. Our dog park is closed in our complex, and has been for over a month now.. so walking is the only exercise he can get. And I think that’s where the aggression is coming from. He doesn’t get exercised enough anymore. He is a very sweet boy otherwise, very submissive and playful with other dogs. NO CATS, No birds. He has never attacked a small animal, but he has lunged and barked at them. We do not want to put him down, he just needs a better home. That can exercise him, and work with him closer and more frequently than we can. We are very sad to see him go. He is apart of the family. But we can’t have him biting the kids or us. I used to be a stay at home mom, for 4 years. But since prices began to rise I had to get a full time job, and now it’s just less time for him. Less time to work on training, and just giving him the proper love and attention he needs. He comes with all his things. Which is a lot. Asking $75 rehoming fee.
