Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for ensuring the facility equipment is maintained and in production. This position is also responsible for the availability of parts for the machines in the facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Performs Preventative Maintenance on facility and plant equipment per written PM’s · Records findings on PM worksheets issued by manager · This includes such activities as lubrication, part replacement and general adjustment · Performs daily maintenance on plant equipment as necessary · Seeks assistance when confronted with unfamiliar issues · Must keep tools clean and account for tools used on each job to prevent product contamination and equipment damage · Develop rapport with plant operators to gather information regarding existing and developing equipment problems and failures that result in inefficiencies and potential shut-down · Suggest changes and modifications to equipment to improve production capacity, reduce setup and sanitation time, etc. · Assists with keeping and developing spare parts inventories · Assists Engineering with operation of production duties as needed · Keep work areas clean and orderly · Ability to work with all levels of personnel · Work safely and observe plant safety rules Competencies/Qualifications · Detail oriented with good organizational skills · Good communication and interaction skills · Able to follow written work instructions · Ability to work under minimal supervision · Flexibility to work overtime · Problem solving and decision making · Must be able to speak, write and read English. Bilingual skills are a plus. · Minimum 4 years related experience in repairing manufacturing machinery and related equipment · Demonstrated ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams as it relates to troubleshooting and maintenance. · Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. · Must be willing to take courses as needed to improve knowledge on job related topics · May use personal tools · Physically capable performing tasks associated with the responsibilities, such as but not limited to: • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb ladders; work on an elevated platform or surface; and talk or hear. • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms Education · High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus, But not Mandatory preferably in a maintenance discipline · 4+ years of experience in manufacturing environment Work Environment / Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. Also, will perform tasks inside production floor and must follow current good manufacturing practices and work instructions.
