Escobar Bio: Congresswoman Veronica Escobar proudly represents Texas’ 16th Congressional District in El Paso. As a third-generation El Pasoan, Congresswoman Escobar has dedicated her life’s work to improving the lives of El Pasoans.
Concha Bio: Dr. Concha is an assistant professor at The University of Texas at El Paso's Department of Public Health Sciences. As a first generation Mexican-American in higher education, Dr. Concha's research has been informed by personal experiences and first hand experience with community members with diabetes. It is her goal to translate the lived experience to salient and culturally informed diabetes prevention and management programs.
