October is National Stalking Awareness Month and to bring domestic violence awareness in our community, the FemCity Brownsville Collective is collaborating with the Friendship of Women, a domestic violence 501c3 nonprofit in Brownsville, Texas. FemCity Brownsville is committed to making an impact starting with our community. We have developed a fundraising event, "Fierce, Fabulous y Fenomenal - A Story to Tell," to help raise funds for FemCity Brownsville and the Friendship of Women capital campaign. Currently, Friendship of Women can only shelter eight families experiencing domestic violence. FemCity Brownsville wants to help build a larger facility to provide services, especially shelter in a time of dire need. We all know someone who is a victim of domestic violence.
