JOLIET, IL — A 24-year-old Joliet man accused of ramming his car into his girlfriend's car, causing extensive damage to both vehicles on West Jefferson Street, is one of the Joliet Police Department's first felony arrests of the new year.
Shortly after 2 a.m. on New Year's Day, Jereme Foster of Joliet was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and multiple traffic offenses, according to Joliet police.
Upon investigating a crash early Friday morning, Joliet patrol officers "determined that a female victim's vehicle was intentionally damaged by her boyfriend, Foster. The investigation shows that Foster broke out the front and rear passenger side windows to her vehicle while in the area of Raynor Avenue and West Jefferson Street," according to police.
"The victim proceeded westbound on West Jefferson Street which time Foster began intentionally ramming her vehicle with his vehicle, forcing the victim's vehicle into the oncoming eastbound lanes of West Jefferson Street near Larkin Avenue, causing extensive damage to both vehicles," police reports reflect.
Joliet police booked Foster into the Will County Jail on New Year's Day around 4:35 a.m. Foster, who lives in the 800 block of Glenwood Avenue, remained in the Will County Jail on Monday afternoon unable to post 10 percent of his $30,000 bail, jail records show.
