Program Details:  Riverside PACT: Holistic Active Transportation Planning Presented by: Nathan Mustafa, PE, TE, AICP; City of Riverside, Deputy Public Works Director ______________________________________________________________________________________ Nathan Mustafa is a registered Civil & Traffic Engineer and Certified Planner. Nathan currently serves as the Deputy Public Works Director for the City of Riverside with oversight of Traffic Engineering, Solid Waste, Urban Forestry, Streets Maintenance, Parking Services, and Mobility Planning. Nathan additionally serves in the Environmental Stewardship team of the City’s Office of Sustainability. Nathan has participated in the award and management of millions of dollars in grant funded capital projects, including the recently awarded Eastside Climate Collaborative grant. Nathan recently managed the adoption of the City’s first integrated active transportation planning document, the Riverside PACT. The City of Riverside PACT consists of: a Pedestrian Target Safeguarding Plan (PTS), an Active Transportation Plan (AT Plan), a Complete Streets Ordinance (CSO), and a Trails Master Plan (TMP). These four plans will help the City create robust, sustainable and accessible transportation options and public spaces for residents and visitors well into the future. These plans include creating funding strategies and opportunities to provide more transportation options such as walking, bicycling, and taking public transit from one place to another.
