Description

This class will meet in-person once a week on Tuesday evenings for three weeks. The classes will be held on September 6, 13, and 20 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Simply register for the first date and you will be registered for all three classes. Are you interested in learning about mindfulness and how to meditate? This is a great opportunity for beginners with no prior meditation experience. The course will also serve as a nice refresher course for those with prior experience looking to renew their practice. Topics will include: mindfulness of body, breath, feeling and mind and also heart practices such as compassion, joy and gratitude. Each session will include instruction, practice, interactive exercises and Q&A. Practice homework will be offered between sessions. This is a three class series. Commitment to attend all three classes is strongly encouraged. Registration Registration applies to all three classes. However if you miss the first class, you will have the opportunity to register through the second class-- after which registration will close. Cost We offer this class on a sliding scale of $30 to $150 for all three classes. Choose the first date to register and you choose the amount. Note: you are paying that amount for all three classes. Registration will close the second week. As registration includes a donation for the teacher, we want to encourage people to register as generously as they can. However, we turn no one away for lack of funds. Contact the teacher Karson at [email protected] for a scholarship. Our Teacher Karson Kovakovich, PhD, is a graduate of Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield's two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Program. He has been teaching mindfulness since 2013. His teaching combines a deep love of the practice with a real-world, practical approach. In addition to practicing with SBMG, Karson studies with the nuns of Aloka Vihara, and is a long time student of Kevin Griffin.
