The Los Angeles Community Garden Council is thrilled to announce that this year’s Gathering of Community Gardens will occur at Solano Canyon Community Garden on Saturday, October 15th, from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Join us for a day of learning and collaboration to uplift environmental issues and encourage sustainability best practices. Hear from award-winning writer and journalist Gustavo Arellano, a very special guest speaker at this year’s gathering! The event theme is “Regeneration,” which applies to the soil, the garden, and the community. During the event, we will conduct tours of the community garden and farm. We will also share composting tips, best watering practices, and more. There will be plenty of space for children to make seed bombs, and enjoy story time in the garden. Live music from The Solid Senders (Jazz and Blues) and a healthy lunch will be offered. This is a no-waste event. Please bring your own plate, cup, and eating utensils. Suggested donation of $15.00 per guest to cover lunch; however, no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Keep up with our social media to learn more.
