Self-Care: Investing in YOU! You are sitting at your desk, and it’s been a busy week at work. There is an important meeting you have to prepare for, a new project that you are spearheading, loads of paperwork, and your calendar is jam-packed with tasks and events. So, how do you make room for all these things? You overwork, cancel your workout, cut back on socializing, and even skip a few meals. To keep up with this frantic pace of living, we don’t think twice about putting self-care on the back burner. More often than not, it takes a wake-up call to notice the toll this kind of lifestyle takes on our lives. No matter how indulgent or fancy the term may sound, self-care is crucial for our physical, emotional or spiritual, and mental well-being. Unaddressed stress can lead to depression, anxiety, burnout, physical illness, substance use, or other self-sabotaging behaviors. It can also cause reduced productivity, strained relationships, and low job and life satisfaction. On airplanes, we are told in case of emergency we should “Put on our own oxygen mask before assisting others.” We are no use to anyone if we’re running on empty. Caring for ourselves first is often the best thing we can do to help others. It isn’t selfish or egocentric, it is a good practice to live a whole and satisfying life. When we care for ourselves, we are better partners, friends, neighbors, caregivers, students, employees, leaders, entrepreneurs, problem solvers, etc. because "We can't pour from an empty cup.” In this interactive training, we will...
