/GREETINGS EARTHLINGS Orbit 17 is in search of a 4th player! Our esteemed violinist had to recently de-commit from this project so we are hoping to find someone who can fill his formidable shoes and add additional space, texture and movement to our sound. We are (as of last week) a three piece with bass, drums and guitar + vocals and are currently booking gigs into 2023. We have a full LP recorded and plan on releasing singles over the upcoming year. Still working out details and schedules but the intent is to play as much as we can live in support of this. We are capable of performing as a three piece so we’re not in a rush and are focused on finding the right person. Our music is fairly complex and uses a lot of odd time signatures and some unusual scales & modes, so you need to have some musical chops. I wouldn’t call us a prog band, but maybe we’re prog-lite. We put a lot of focus on being catchy and accessible however. Now, who is this 4th person? Well, we’re willing to consider many options, however I’m really NOT looking for a second full time guitarist. If you play guitar and few other instruments, and are willing to only pick up the guitar for a song or two, then maybe there is a fit. Otherwise I’m sorry, I know its tough out there for guitarists :( Bottom line, if you listen to the music and think you can bring something unique and interesting to the experience AND you can provide examples of your work the feel free to reach out. Goes without saying that we need someone who is down to earth and reliable. We all have day jobs, so you don’t need to be a professional musician, but we also take our music seriously and want to share it with others who love music as much as we do.
