This event is free, and no preparation or knowledge of poetry is necessary to participate. A reading packet will be shared. For anyone who enjoys poetry or learning more about poets in a conversational setting, this informal gathering includes many opportunities to contribute to the conversation and ask questions. It is also a great way to meet people in the community who have similar interests. The topic for discussion at this meeting will be the poetry of Mark Doty and Walt Whitman and include a discussion of Doty’s book "What is the Grass: Walt Whitman in My Life." The Aging and the Arts Poetry Circle meets in the Forum at the Health Sciences Innovation Building (HSIB), an indoor/outdoor space. The event venue offers appropriate room for social distancing, and the University of Arizona recommends the use of face coverings in indoor settings. HSIB is located at 1670 E. Drachman St. Tucson, AZ 85721. Complimentary parking will be available in lot 2012, adjacent to the building. Please register by November 18.
