We are looking for a Caregiver during the week Monday-Friday from 12-6 pm. For a young man with Autism. He is 24 years old. He loves Disney movies, celebrating holidays, going out to eat, spending time with his family, shopping trips, Being outdoors; hiking, kayaking, swimming, working with animals, horseback riding, etc. He loves traveling and learning about different cultures. He enjoys working out, yoga, and guided meditations to help him relax. He really wants to start taking animation classes so he can start making his own movies! He is very high functioning and loves talking about his interests and trying new food! He has a hard time with his emotions sometimes and can become overwhelmed so he needs help and guidance throughout the day to help him manage his anxiety. He has a morning staff and an overnight live-in staff as well as a Program Manager. We have a gap from 12-6 pm that we need to fill with another caregiver. All training will be paid for and provided to you. Your job will be helping Carter with ALL aspects of his life; out in the community, at home, emotional and behavioral support, cooking, helping him learn new skills, driving him to and from places including doctors and dentists appts and will include helping him with housekeeping and yard work (he has turf so he just needs guidance blowing off the lawn). We will discuss and provide a detailed description during the interview process. We do reimburse mileage. The purpose of this position is for him to feel like he has a friend/ mentor to do things with and that is patient and willing to help him learn how to be on his own. Training is included. You will be expected to watch a few training videos on how to be a caregiver and ILS provider and discuss what that means and how to implement it with his Program director. You must be willing to communicate and discuss the day with the Program manager/ other staff members and keep a daily log of medication and tasks, outings, and details on his mood and how the day went.
