A stroll thru Fairmount Cemetery as actors bring to life the stories from Washington Irving's gothic story of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, our goal is to enlighten, not to frighten! About this event Join us on September 17, 2022 at Fairmount Cemetery. Our tours bring to life the Stories of one of the Master's of classic literature - Washington Irving,told in ways never before witnessed. Bring along a flashlight and dress warmly, if needed, along with comfortable walking shoes (high heels are NOT recommended), as this is a walking tour of less than one mile. Your tour visits the most historic areas of the cemetery as these stories are told., along this tour route you may encounter Katrina Van Tassell, Baltus Van Tassel and Brom Van Brunt - never know, who else, may make an appearance...... Your visit begins at the historic Little Ivy Chapel and concludes at the upper Ivy Terrace, just south of the Little Ivy Chapel, where popcorn and refreshments will be provided. Proceeds benefit Fairmount Heritage Foundation. The Foundation works tirelessly to preserve our histories and to provide historical education opportunities, and restoration projects at both Fairmount Cemetery and our sister Cemetery - Historic Riverside Cemetery! ENTRANCE TO AND PARKING Please enter the cemetery from Quebec St and utilize the parking areas around the main office - your tour will begin in the Little Ivy Chapel at the top of the hill. Please print your tickets as no tickets will be mailed to you. Ticket sales end 2 days prior to the event. All tickets must be purchased in advance. No tickets at the door!
