My Section 8 voucher awarded without application

I felt the need to make Pinellas and Hillsborough County residents aware that although individuals and families have been on the Section 8 waiting list for a very, very long time after having had to complete applications with the housing authority, I and others were awarded vouchers without having applied for them, and in fact, not even being aware in the first place that anything was happening. This is not right. For years I have seen news story after news story about people in desperate need not being able to get them in time, yet, again, I and others were awarded vouchers this year without waiting and without ever having applied. I have contacted the local media but my one email will not be enough. Please contact the media and ask that this be investigated. You can refer them to this posting.
