DETROIT — One was person died and three others were badly hurt in a Monday night house fire on Detroit's east side, fire officials said. Officials said the fire broke out at the 1.5-story home on the 19000 block of Hoover Street around 8 p.m. It took firefighters about 45 minutes to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading to any nearby houses, Detroit Fire Chief James Harris told the Detroit News. A man, woman and child were all taken to a nearby hospital where the man was listed in critical condition, the woman and child were listed as temporary serious, officials said. Fire officials were still investigating to determine the cause of the fire, officials said.
