Entry Level Healthcare – Respite Care | Hunter Mountain - Overnights CAMP LOYALTOWN – Spend part of your week at Scenic Hunter Mountain at Camp Loyaltown! Camp Loyaltown 118 Glen Avenue, Hunter, NY 12442 The Respite DSP (Direct Support Professional) will provide support in socialization, self-care, safety, and the overall well-being of the people that participate in a respite program. This position is a 3-4 day overnight stay that leaves from a AHRC Nassau or Citizens Options Unlimited location and travels to Hunter, NY. Practice and promotes the agencies mission statements in every interaction Through family and community engagement, Citizens supports people to live the life they choose Report to the Justice Center as a mandated reporter if there is reasonable cause to suspect abuse or neglect. Additionally, must follow all agency incident policy and procedures Accompany and/or transports people using safe driving practices from Long Island to Hunter New York, shopping and recreational outings Responsible for all daily activities in terms of participation, punctuality and leadership and ensures that the scheduled activity program is followed for their trip. Maintain a daily log of their individual events/activities along with co-counselors to ensure communication with administration We require: High School Diploma or equivalent required Prior experience supporting people with developmental disabilities preferred Qualified NYS driver's license that is also qualified in accordance with agency insurance standards is required Completion and maintenance of yearly CPR and SCIP status This position requires regular and substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with people receiving services and, therefore, is subject to successful completion of fingerprint/criminal background check Enjoy a meaningful wonderful experience of a lifetime!
