Introduction: Chicago Apartment Place, Inc. is a real estate property management company located in the Lakeview area on the north side of Chicago. We are looking for an experienced Painter to join the maintenance team within our company on a full-time basis. The position will pay $21/hour, based on experience and qualifications. Summary: The full-time Painter is responsible for painting interiors of apartments and exteriors of buildings in multi-family and commercial properties. Duration: Full-time. This position is a full-time 40 hour/ week crew position. Job Description: The full-time Painter will be required to paint building and apartment interiors and also some exterior painting throughout the various properties managed by the company. Snow removal is also required as needed. Work Environment: Work will be done in buildings around various Chicago neighborhoods including Lakeview/Wrigleyville, Lincoln Park/DePaul, Fulton Market, and the Near West side. The full-time painter is expected to transport their paint and tools and drive to each location as needed. Duties and Responsibilities: - Paint walls; - Paint metal fences; - Finish wooden doors and surfaces; - Hang drywall and doors; and - Perform related work as assigned including assisting with snow removal. Essential Job Requirements: - Professional interior/house painting experience is mandatory. - 2-5 years experience required; - Hang drywall; - Drywall repairs; - Tape and patch; - Painting; - Comfortable with electrical in order to remove/install light fixtures when painting ceilings; - Wood Stripping, Sanding, Staining - Minor wall paper installation and repair; - Minor grounds keeping to clear up leaves, trash around property and dumpsters - Willingness to learn new skills/trades - Must be willing to work as part of an established team; - Must work neatly and in a courteous manner in occupied spaces and clean up daily upon completion; and - Must have valid driver’s license, vehicle with insurance, and a cell phone.
