A poll conducted last week found that incumbent Washington Senator Patty Murray’s lead over Republican challenger Tiffany Smiley has dwindled slightly since 2021. Senator Patty Murray announces reelection campaign The survey was conducted by Public Policy Polling on behalf of the Northwest Progressive Institute (NPI), comprised of 700 likely 2022 voters. Roughly 38% identified as Democrats, 38% identified as independent, and 24% identified as Republicans. he general election is not far away and in the Washington U.S. Senate race, a poll conducted by the Trafalgar Group — a nationally recognized polling and marketing company based in Atlanta — shows incumbent Sen. Patty Murray (D) leading Tiffany Smiley (R) by fewer than 3 percentage points. A recent poll is narrowing the gap. If the election occurred now, 49.2% of those who participated in the poll would vote for Murray, while 46.3% said they would vote for Smiley. Those who were undecided comprised 4.5%. When it came to party participation, there were 44.2% of Democrats, 33.2% of Republicans and 22.4% of the poll participants who were either a part of another party or none at all. The Smiley for Washington campaign released their first television ad of the general election titled “She Said.” In the ad, veterans advocate and U.S. Senate candidate Tiffany Smiley (R-WA) takes Senator Patty Murray to task for spending millions to scare voters instead of serving them. The ad buy totals nearly three-quarters of a million dollars and will run statewide from August 25 through September 13.
