Position Overview | The Big Picture The Vessels Assistant is responsible for supporting the Vessels Department by processing and maintaining department event hard goods inventory. This position reports to and receives direction from the Vessels Manager, and may receive direction from the Department Lead, Junior Lead, and Director of Production. Essential Duties | What You’ll Do - The Fun Stuff Completes production work including: custom vinyl applications, cleaning, polishing, preparing, and packing inventory based upon specifications. Ensures work is completed on time according to production schedules. May assist Floral and Sample Departments with floral preparation work. Keeps inventory organized, up to date, and stocked appropriately. Ensures inventory is handled properly. Alerts management of any lost or broken inventory from events. Tracks and enters time and tasks assigned to work projects into Labor Log on computer. Qualifications | What You Need to Bring Floral knowledge or experience a plus. Knowledge of proper packing techniques a plus. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels. Excellent attention to detail and good follow-up skills required. Ability to effectively use tools and equipment that includes: floral knives and cutters, transport equipment, and ladders. Ability to tolerate long work shifts and work flexible schedules to include evenings and weekends. Physical and Work Environment Requirements | What it is Like at the Work Site Must be able to lift 20 pounds or more, bend, push and pull carts over the course of the work shift. Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, bend and reach during entire work shift. Must be able to stand for 6 or more hours. Ability to work with hands and arms during entire shift. Ability to handle fragile items safely. Must be able to climb ladders without accommodation. Ability to handle fragile items safely. Required to move between multiple buildings and locations throughout the work shift. Must have 20/20 vision with correction. Must be able to tolerate cold, heat and humid conditions. Ability to tolerate moderate noise.
