When weather permits, the Glen Ellyn Park District offers ice skating at the following locations: Lake Ellyn, 645 Lenox Rd. Lake Foxcroft, 2S540 Lambert Rd. Newton Park, 707 Fairview Ave. For sledding, residents can head to Newton Park, 707 Fairview Ave., weather permitting. Since ice skating is unsupervised, flags are used to indicate the ice conditions at the parks.If you see a green flag on the pole, the ice is safe for skating at cleared spots.
