Fresh Coast Alliance and Michigan Works! West Central's Offender Success program in partnership with the Michigan Department of Corrections are organizing the first-ever Re-Entry United Conference to highlight successful partnerships, programs and services that can benefit returning citizens. The inaugural conference will feature breakout sessions and panel discussions on topics such as services for justice-involved individuals, successful collaboration with MDOC and returning citizens, mentoring programs, re-entry grants, trauma, the future of re-entry and more! Angie Sprank, with the Region 4 Offender Success Program, and Nate Johnson, with Fresh Coast Alliance, will co-host the event. Featured speakers will include Calvin Prison Initiative graduates, Sherelle Hogan with Pure Heart Foundation, MDOC Director Heidi Washington, University of Michigan Criminologist Aaron Kinzel, Terrel Tops of Wayne State University, Muskegon County Prosecutor DJ Hilson and more! The event program will start at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Eberhard Center in Grand Rapids. Attendee sign-in opens at 8 a.m. Lunch and snack breaks also will be provided throughout the event. *Based on seating limits, you may be placed on a waiting list.
