We depend on the passion of volunteers to complete our mission. Just a few hours of your day will make a difference. Volunteers help with check-in, water stations, information, and much more. Volunteer at a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event and make sure that no one fighting breast cancer has to walk alone. What is Making Strides Against Breast Cancer? Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks are the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting communities with a shared determination to help free the world from the pain and suffering of breast cancer. Passionate walk participants raise critical funds that enable the American Cancer Society to fund innovative research; provide free, information and support to anyone touched by breast cancer; and help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable. How Can I help? We need volunteers to help support our 21st annual Making Strides of Oregon & SW Washington walk on Saturday, October 8th, at Portland International Raceway (1940 N Victory Blvd, Portland, OR 97217). We are in need of volunteers to assist with the following roles: Volunteer Check inVendor Check inDay of event setup/décor Course Directors/CheerleadersEntrance Cheerleaders Photo BoothGames & Activities Survivor Tent Set up Survivor TentClean Up Crew*Volunteer role descriptions can be found on the registration page Where is the Walk Held? The walk will be held at Portland International Raceway (1940 N Victory Blvd, Portland, OR 97217) on Saturday, October 8th. The event program begins at 10:00 am. Volunteers shifts will vary depending on the assigned task. How does American Cancer Society help in the fight against Breast Cancer?
