Pilates was developed in the early 20th century by German physical trainer Joseph Pilates, who practiced the full-body fitness regime well into his 80s and coined the phrase “Pilates is the exercise for a lifetime.” In this program led by Crosby Wellness Center Pilates instructor Meghan Juras, you’ll learn the basics of Mat Pilates as Joseph developed it, including modifications for limitations and injuries. You’ll slow down and work on your form while focusing on the six principles of Pilates: Control, Concentration, Centering, Precision, Flow, and Breath.
Program Notes: Participants in this program should bring their own yoga mats.
This program is presented by Meghan Juras and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation in partnership with the Crosby Wellness Center.
