Objectives:
-Attendees will learn what documentation bias is
-Attendees will learn how to identify biased language in clinical documentation
-Attendees will learn the potential negative impact of documentation bias
-Attendees will learn strategies to include more equitable language within clinical documentation
Summary:
Often, clinicians receive the clinical record before they meet the client. The clinical records provided details about the client and can include information that can stereotype the client and bias the clinician. Bias within the clinical documentation can negatively impact client care. This workshop will help clinicians learn about bias and the impact, identify documentation bias and identify strategies to address documentation bias.
