The Launchpad: Clash of DIY Recording x Pro Production (with J.Tom Hnatow) Ever wondered, “What parts of this album can I make on my own?” Making music means leveraging resources, intention, aesthetic, and skills no matter what level you’re at. Join us in real time as Music District team members Shane Zweygardt and Alysia Kraft hand off a song recorded entirely with Music District gear in Music District spaces to be finished by a superstar production team of J.Tom Hnatow and Grammy-nominated, Justin Craig. In his capacity as professional engineer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist with credits on over 300 records, Tom will make engineering observations as he listens to stems, have the group test production recommendations, and talk through some next steps before having the song professionally mixed and mastered. Bring demos or rough mixes to share following the session and ask Tom about your own intersections of DIY recording and professional intervention. Please note: must be 18 years or older to attend.
