Since 2004, The Blue has been one of Hampton Roads' best respected events for independently minded performing artists. Since its inception, The Blue has been known for its intimate atmosphere, engaged audiences and spontaneous moments of profound creativity and expression. The open nature of our event fosters genuine connection between performer and audience member. There is no pretense at The Blue. We work hard to maintain an open, warm, and encouraging environment that is conducive to creative expression. It isn’t about money, glitz, glamour or fame. The Blue is about providing an open and supportive environment for creative people to share, connect and interact. During this special one night reunion-event we are welcoming back many of the musicians, singers, emcees and poets who made The Blue a special place.
