DATE: 7-11 November 2022TIME: Monday-Friday ALL day 9:00am-5:00pm Central Standard TimeLOCATION: International Linguistics Center, 7500 West Camp Wisdom Road, Dallas, TX, 75236REGISTRATION FEE: $200 USD (Includes all training materials and snacks, but not meals or lodging)Registration deadline: 11/4/2022, 10:00 PM CDTABOUT THE SESSION: This Advanced Equipping session continues the equipping process for facilitators in Bible-based Trauma Healing using the book Healing the Wounds of Trauma: How the Church Can Help and its associated program model. The Advanced Equipping session further develops the skills acquired at the Initial session and during the practicum. Among the topics included are: Review the ‘core’ lessonsPractice facilitation to further grow as an effective facilitatorCover some supplemental lessonsFurther explore art and other exercisesIntroduce contextualization of materialsThe goal by the end of this session is to become a Healing Group Facilitator. Participants should be better able to solve issues arising in trauma healing groups as they carry out their ministries. They should understand the materials completely and clearly and be able to better lead groups in a participatory way. Similar to the Initial equipping, there is an evaluation during this Advanced equipping session that consists of: Participant’s self-awareness of impact on others and the ability to interact well in a groupParticipant’s overall emotional well-beingAnother short test showing your knowledge of the contentMore practice facilitating a group in a participatory way with feedback on your strengths and suggestions to address areas needing improvement.Participants who have the necessary competencies are certified as Healing Group Facilitators at the end of the advanced session. If a participant exhibits training skills, he/she may also become a Training Facilitator and mentored to help conduct Initial Equippings with a more experienced facilitator. REQUIREMENTS: 1. Participants must have successfully completed an initial equipping session 2. Participants must have co-led or led at least two healing groups (or equivalent activity) and submitted their reports. SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR ZOOM: Desktop, laptop or tablet strongly recommended for participation (a smart phone may be used if that is the only device for accessing the internet). Participants must be visible by other participants. A private location for internet connection is recommended, but at least earphones must be used if privacy is difficult to ensure confidentiality.
