The Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshop is for caregivers who want to feel more comfortable, confident and competent in helping to prevent the immediate risk of suicide.
ASIST training will guide a caregiver through an intervention model for suicide prevention. A caregiver participant will learn how to:
Connect with a person at risk, Understand the person at risk’s choices,Assist a person at risk with developing a safe plan Learning how to use the ASIST model will empower a caregiver to explore invitations to suicide, ask about thoughts of suicide, and intervene with the person at risk by helping them connect to a network of resources.
Note: Space is limited, registration is required. Training is subject to cancellation.
