Description

For the CULTURE, LEGACY, and BEYOND! Join us in your best Wakanda attire, full regalia (African royalty), preferably white, for the most highly anticipated movie of the year. Youth are welcome to attend the private screening as we feel it is of the utmost importance that they are exposed to such events, thus allowing them to learn first-hand about African culture, history, and traditions. However, we'd love our guests to have a great time without the distraction of restless little ones, so we politely request that you consider their age and temperament before purchasing them a ticket. You can expect an evening that embodies the culture as we'll kick things off with a warm welcome, followed by a meet & greet, retail therapy, and a taste of Africa; before taking in the movie. We'll conclude the evening with not one, not two, but seven giveaways. Every adult will have the chance to win an authentic African item, as your movie admission also includes one raffle ticket. *Note, you can increase your chances of winning by purchasing additional raffle tickets for $5 each. And every guest will receive a gift bag valued at $35+. 7 pm - Doors Open Registration Table Check-inCarpet PhotosMeet & Greet (mingle amongst one another/identify the best dress)7:45 pm - Official Welcome, Tammy Darmel Moore, Founder, Footprints in Africa 8 pm - Group Photo (don't miss it) Check out Vending Table (Items Made in Africa) Check out $5 Raffle Items (Items Made in Africa) Taste of Africa (authentic African food)8:45 pm - Movie Premier 10:30 pm - 3 Prize Giveaways and 4 Raffle Drawings *Times are approximate and may change slightly. All proceeds will benefit the mission of Footprints in Africa, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. WHY WEAR WHITE (although not mandatory)? The first scenes show Wakandans dressed in all white as they dance through the streets in honor of King T'Challa, who has passed away. In keeping in the spirit of that, wearing white in full regalia (royalty) is our way of honoring our ancestors and the life and legacy of Upstate's very own Chadwick Boseman, FOREVER OUR KING!
