Mindfulness is the purposeful cultivation of wise and affectionate attention in the present moment. When mindful awareness is brought into relationship with art, it provides a means to notice more deeply how art can move and imbue us with moments of joy, awe, and wonder.
Join Mindfulness in the Heartland’s founder for some mindful walking and looking on Saturday, July 16th from 10 to 11 a.m., as we explore works of art on the grounds of the Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park located on the campus of The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
This FREE community walking meditation will offer you the opportunity to explore a mindfulness-based meditation practice while contemplating your experiences with works of art.
This community event will be facilitated by Amy Zoe Schonhoff, the founder of Mindfulness in the Heartland. Amy is a qualified teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and a certified advanced practitioner of trauma-sensitive mindfulness.
