Rehoming German Rottweiler

Events

Kent WA

Description

He is a healthy male. About 90lbs. Tail & dew claws intact. 2 years old, still very much a puppy. Professionally trained, House broken & crate trained. We will only rehome to a person with one of the following. -Big fenced yard/ farm -Experience with large working dogs (Rottweilers preferred) He is hyperactive, and has a high prey drive. So he will play with you until he drops and then after 5 minutes go again. So it is very important that his new owner has the time to get his energy out and train with him on impulse control. We have cats in our household and a child that he does well with. He gets along with other dogs at the dog park, but he is nervous with strangers within our home. So I would be wary of kids. He is vocal (Lots of Rottie rumbles) but he will tell you if he doesn't like something. He is not aggressive, has never shown teeth, barked at anyone, or bit anyone, but he is very protective and guards without command. He had obedience training through Canyon Crest in Tacoma. So he is trained to work through his leash. Things we love about him -Good heart -Always wants to be around you -VERY loyal & eager to please -Protective -Catches onto new commands very quickly -Always ready to play -Loves baths -His ability to know when i’ve opened the peanut butter jar Things that need worked on -He does not likes being touched while he eats. - Resource Guarding -Social interaction. The pandemic is mostly to blame for this as we haven’t had many people over since we got him. Outside of the house we haven't had any issues but working with strangers is a must. -He gets anxious with nail trims. It takes a lot of positive encouragement and treats to trim his nails. -Does not like rain. You have to give him a push to go outside to go potty. -Jumping. No first time dog owners Rehoming fee applies & we would like to have the ability to follow up with the adopting family to make sure he is being well taken care of.
