Looking for Women Bluegrass Players

Description

I'm looking to form a new bluegrass project with at least three women as the core sound. The biggest need right now is guitar, followed by banjo, and mandolin. Here's the rundown: - I'm based in Olympia and have practice space and flexible work schedule. Our gigs will likely be based in Seattle and greater Washington with some travel into Oregon. I'm fine with an open mic or two to test material, but it is my belief that music and art have value and should be monetarily supported. I seek out paid gigs and have some local contacts already in place. - Intermediate to Advanced players: We will be playing some fast tunes with a mix of originals and traditional pieces. I'm eyeballing the 2024/25 festival season. There will be some room for crossover tunes but to play festivals we will need a solid traditional sounding repertoire. - 21+ please. This project would do well with any age after 21, since we will likely play a few of the local venues that serve alcohol. - Guitar: I need an experienced flatpicker who can play both lead and rhythm. - Vocals: Women who can sing both lead and harmony are preferred but if you're a monster on your instrument we can figure something out regardless :) - It would be great if you have experience in the bluegrass community, but I understand if it's been tough to break through so as long as you have the skillset needed I can work with you. Interested parties can email their music samples and please let me know who your bluegrass influences are. I'll be happy to send you samples of my recordings as well. Thanks and happy jamming!
