ELMHURST, IL — For the second time since June, an Elmhurst man has been taken to the DuPage County Jail on charges of domestic violence, police said.
According to a police report, Henry T. Herman, 63, slapped a woman on the right side of her face and slammed a refrigerator door on her arm. While officers arrested Herman, he tried to kick and bite them, police said. The incident happened at noon New Year's Eve in the 200 block of East Fremont Avenue, according to the report.
Herman was charged with two counts of domestic battery, two counts of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He was still in the county jail as of Monday afternoon, according to the jail's website.
In June, a woman told police that Herman scratched her nose with a fork, according to a police report. An officer reported seeing a cut on the left side of the victim's nose. The earlier incident also happened on the same block, police said.
Herman was charged then with two counts of domestic battery and taken to the county jail.
